The idea for Ericailcane’s wall painting emerged in 2014 as part of the second edition of FRONTIER – The Line of Style, an open and evolving platform structured around two complementary strands of activity: one dedicated to the artistic development of urban art and one dedicated to a deeper theoretical background.
Invited to conceive a pictorial work for the city’s historic Gasometer, the artist envisioned a continuous narrative centred on two enormous dogs biting each other’s tails and carrying on their backs an allegory of two cities, or two faces of the same city (Bologna?): one living in joyful harmony, while the other, as suggested by one of the figures, walks precariously along a tightrope.
