Presented directly by David Horvitz via email, this unrealized project consists of a simple yet evocative proposal: retrieving one of the historic Los Angeles streetcars that were dumped into the Pacific Ocean after the dismantling of the city’s streetcar network. Starting from a little-known episode in the urban history of Los Angeles, Horvitz reflects on memory, loss, and the processes through which cities erase traces of their past.
